Workers’ Support and Insurance Fund of Qatar since its inception in 2018 has contributed greatly to improving the working conditions and environment for workers and providing them with a decent living, within the framework of comprehensive reforms undertaken by the state in this regard.
Speaking with the media, the fund’s executive director Kholoud Saif Abdullah Al Kubaisi confirmed that it had achieved a significant number of important goals. The fund is part of a series of reforms undertaken by Qatar within Qatar National Vision 2030 which seeks to improve working conditions in line with its commitments to relevant international organisations and standards, enhance the country’s reputation at the global level and target sustainable development and social responsibility.
Ms Al Kubaisi revealed that around 130,000 workers had benefitted since the fund’s establishment through protection of their rights such as ensuring receipt of their financial dues, through a set of procedures and controls and enhanced transparency. M
