Although Egypt has not experienced major floods or earthquakes in recent years, lessons taken from the September 2023 Al Haouz quake that struck Morocco have led to moves to develop parametric insurance and establish a Nat CAT pool that will offer coverage to unprotected residential properties in Egypt against earthquakes and floods.
