MENA RE Underwriters (MENA Re), a wholly owned subsidiary of Doha Insurance Group based in the DIFC, has announced the promotion of Mr Tareq Hussein to CEO cum Senior Executive Officer, effective July 2026.
He served as the company’s Chief Underwriting Officer since 2023.
Mr Hussien joined MENA Re when it was established in 2015 as Underwriter – Political Violence and Specialty Lines. Prior to that, he worked at Doha Insurance Company, where he started his insurance career, as Underwriting Officer for around two years. He also received extensive training in the auditing and banking fields earlier in his career.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr Hussein said, “I look forward to working alongside our talented team as we continue to strengthen MENA Re, deepen our partnerships and deliver sustainable value to our clients, brokers, and stakeholders across the region.”
