Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company (QGIRCO) has named Mr Aimen Saba Azara as Group Chief Executive Officer with effect from 6 January 2025, according to a statement the Group lodged with the Qatar Stock Exchange.
Mr Azara joins the Group from the Dubai-based Alliance Insurance Company where he was executive board member and CEO since 2012. He has also served as board member at Kuwait’s Gulf Insurance Group between 2018 and 2024. Between 2005 and 2013, he was general manager of Al Sagr National Insurance Company in UAE. Before that, he was director of agencies, Jordan and Palestine at Alico/AIG.
Founded in 1979 and listed in Qatar stock exchange since 1997, QGIRC group comprises of three main companies: Qatar General Insurance & Reinsurance Company, General Takaful Company, and Qatar General Holding Company.
