Saudi Reinsurance Company (Saudi Re) has announced the appointment of Ms Ruchi Jain as Principal Officer of Saudi Re's IIO-GIFT City, India Branch.
Prior to joining Saudi Re in May, Ms Jain worked at Swiss Re for over 10 years holding senior positions in Australia and India, and most recently as Vice President and Senior Client Underwriter in India. Before that, she was Assistant Vice President at Howden Insurance Brokers India between 2012 and 2015. She also spent four years as Reinsurance Broker at PINC Insurance in India between 2008 and 2012.
Saudi Re said in a statement, “With her extensive experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, Ms. Ruchi will play a key role in strengthening our presence in the Indian market and delivering innovative reinsurance solutions to our clients and partners. Her appointment marks an important step in supporting the launch of our new branch in India and expand Saudi Re’s footprint across the Asian markets.”
The reinsurer announced in January 2026 that it had obtained the approvals of the Saudi Insurance Authority and the relevant Indian authorities to open a branch in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City).
An IFSC Insurance Office (IIO) is a registered entity permitted by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) to operate in India's GIFT City.
