Swiss Re's Board of Directors has announced plans to nominate Mr Jean-Jacques Henchoz for election as a new, non-executive and independent member of the Board for a one-year term.
“We are delighted to propose Mr Henchoz for election to our Board as he brings outstanding reinsurance expertise, strategic thinking and proven leadership skills,” said Swiss Re Chairman Jacques de Vaucleroy.
Mr Henchoz served as CEO of Hannover Re from 2019 to 2025, and worked with Swiss Re from 1998 to 2018. He is Chairman of the Board at BMS Group, a board member at Brit Group, and serves on the Supervisory and Foundation Boards of IMD in Lausanne.
Mr Larry Zimpleman, who has served on the board since 2018, and is currently a member of the risk and audit committees, has decided not to stand for re-election.
Swiss Re has also appointed Mr Henock Teklu as Group Chief Transformation Officer and Chief of Staff, effective 1 April 2026. He will also be a member of the Group Executive Committee.
In his new role, Mr Teklu will help orchestrate and oversee Swiss Re’s enterprise-wide transformation agenda.
Mr Teklu brings a wealth of knowledge and insights to the role, with 20 years of leadership experience across investment banking, insurance and asset management. He joins Swiss Re from BlackRock Investment Management.
