UAE:Insurers step up road safety drive during Ramadan

| 23 Feb 2026

Insurance companies in the UAE ramped up traffic awareness campaigns and expanding their online services ahead of Ramadan, which began last week.

They have also been preparing for potential car accidents during peak hours by enhancing the readiness of their claims and customer service teams, reported Al Khaleej.

They are also expediting assessment and approval procedures and strengthening coordination with repair shops and roadside assistance services to ensure a faster and more efficient response.

Mr Mustafa Hassoun, Legal Advisor at Abu Dhabi National Takaful Company, told Al Khaleej, “According to statistics provided by various traffic departments and some insurance companies, vehicle accidents increase during Ramadan, especially in the afternoon, due to fatigue and traffic congestion.”

He added, “Insurance companies are focusing their efforts on raising traffic awareness among customers, including joining government initiatives and supporting traffic awareness programmes, and advising drivers to drive cautiously, especially during peak hours and in the afternoon. Additionally, insurance companies are offering remote work options during Ramadan, which reduces friction and traffic congestion.”
