Africa Specialty Risks (ASR) has appointed Mr Phillip Murphy as medical malpractice senior underwriter. In his new role, he will be responsible for broadening the medical malpractice underwriting line, which is currently offered within a suite of liability solutions.
This will include increasing geographic coverage and expanding broker connections throughout Africa and developing markets.
Mr Murphy joins ASR with over 20 years of medical malpractice insurance experience, having worked with some of the largest institutional healthcare providers, including physician groups and long-term care providers.
Before joining ASR, Mr Murphy worked with Elysium Insure, a trading name of Costero Insurance Brokers, operating under a binder with ASR. Before that, he worked with China Re, Dashwood Brewer & Phipps, BMS, Miller, Aon and Willis.
