Egypt: Takaful surges with 50% growth to propel insurance sector in 1H2026

Takaful contributions rose to about EGP12.14bn ($238m) from January to June 2026. This represented a year on year increase of 50.3%, according to the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA).

Revenue from conventional insurance and takaful activities totalled about EGP65.73bn from January to June 2026, 15.7% higher compared to EGP56.81bn in the corresponding half of 2025.

Conventional insurance accounted for the largest share of total collected premiums, rising by 10% year on year to about EGP53.59bn in 1H2026. M
