Turaco, a micro-insurance provider in Africa, has received an investment from Inclusive Insurance Investment Fund (3IF Ventures). This represents the venture capital fund's first investment, the details of which have not been disclosed.

Turaco, founded in 2018, is an embedded insurance platform reaching more than 8m people across six markets in Africa, and has recently expanded into its first Asian market, Pakistan.

The Turaco team has built its model around three core strengths: embedded distribution through partners proprietary technology that enables more efficient underwriting and claims; and a focus on making insurance more accessible to low-income households through affordable, useful microinsurance. The insurer’s mission is to make insurance accessible and affordable for millions of underserved people across Africa and beyond.

The investment in Turaco is the first by 3IF Ventures, which was established in Mauritius in 2025 as an Africa-focused venture capital firm investing in technology-enabled insurance businesses from pre-seed to Series B. The fund reached a $12m first close in June 2026, anchored by FSD Africa Investments and ZEP-RE, and is targeting a $30m final close.
