Munich Re has appointed Mr Walter Voigts-von Forster as CEO of its Africa branch, effective 1 February 2026 and subject to regulatory approval. He will continue to be head of non-life for Munich Re Africa in addition to his new responsibilities.
Mr Voigts-von Forster has more than 18 years of experience in reinsurance. He joined Munich Re in 2007 and held various positions, including head of aviation treaty, before being appointed head of non-life for Munich Re Africa in 2022.
He obtained a diploma in mathematics in 2004 from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
Mr Voigts-von Forster will succeed Mr Nico Conradie, who has decided to retire at the end of January 2026.
