Solidarity Bahrain, one of the largest insurance companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain and a subsidiary of Solidarity Group Holding, has integrated the eKey 2.0 system in its digital platforms, becoming the first insurer in the kingdom to adopt the national authentication and eKYC system.
EKey 2.0 provides every citizen and resident of Bahrain with a secure digital identity, facilitating passwordless access to government and private sector services.
Solidarity Bahrain’s integration of the system into its online portal and mobile application allows customers using these digital channels to log in to their accounts, using facial recognition and biometric authentication. Under the system, customers can access their accounts securely, verify their data, and complete insurance claims and transactions with greater ease and confidence.
This move is in line with the company's commitment to digital transformation and its compliance with national directives issued by the Central Bank of Bahrain and the Information and eGovernment Authority.
In March 2025, Solidarity Bahrain signed an agreement with Beyon Connect to implement the eKey 2.0 system. Beyon Connect is the provider of the new eKey platform. It is part of the locally incorporated technology group Beyon whose major shareholders include the sovereign wealth fund Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Co.
The implementation of the eKey system is among recent moves made by Solidarity Bahrain in its digital transformation. Before the integration of the eKey system, the insurer announced in July that it had upgraded its online portal with new functionalities that make the digital insurance experience more efficient and reliable. The upgraded portal provides a fully integrated digital self-service system that streamlines the issuance, renewal, and modification of insurance policies.
Powered by artificial intelligence, the updated portal allows customers to select and tailor insurance packages that suit their requirements, track claims effortlessly, access instant support, and benefit from increased flexibility in adjusting policy details, like coverage levels and insured amounts.
