The overall turnover of the six Tunisian (re)insurers listed on the Tunis bourse amounted to TND835.16m ($270.87m) in the first half of 2024, an increase of 10.3% compared to the corresponding half in 2023.
The financial data, as disclosed via the Tunis stock exchange, indicated that, in nominal terms in general, the topline of these companies grew at a faster pace in the first six months of this year compared to the corresponding half in 2023.
Tunisian Insurance and Reinsurance Company (STAR) maintains its position as market leader, expanding premium volume by 9.5% year on year to TND235.26m in 1H2024.
The reinsurance company Tunis Re, also listed on the stock exchange, posted a premium income of TND118.56m in 1H2024, growing by 12.5% year on year.
