Two-thirds (67%) of respondents in a poll in Turkiye said that they were concerned about loss of income for the short or medium term, according to the findings of BNP Paribas Cardif's "Protect & Project Oneself" survey.
The biggest concerns of people in Turkiye were natural disasters (87% of those polled), critical illnesses (86%), and accidents (84%), reported SigortaMedya citing the survey findings.
Half of the respondents said that they were worried about being financially burdened in the event of situations such as death, illness, or unemployment.
The “Protect & Project Oneself” survey was conducted in January and February 2024 with 21,000 respondents from 21 countries.
66% of respondents sought the following services from their insurers: meeting health experts, personalised support programmes, online information and advice, and access to personalised digital applications.
The research also reveals the difficulties experienced in Turkey in accessing insurance solutions. The proportion of respondents who said that they face difficulties was more than 80%.
Consumers, who expected more clarity about insurance solutions, stated that they were uncertain about insurance content, exclusions and ownership conditions.
