Tunis Re's turnover reached TND126m ($31.85m) in the first six months of this year, representing a 2.2% increase compared with the corresponding half of 2025.
The reinsurer said in a statement, “This performance was achieved in a challenging environment marked by complex factors, including the depreciation of the US dollar and geopolitical tensions. It reflects a strategy aimed at balancing growth and portfolio quality through controlled exposures and targeted adjustments to underwriting conditions.”
Significant improvement in claims experience
Net claims incurred amounted to TND30m at the end of the first half of 2026, compared with TND36m during the corresponding half in 2025, representing a 16% decrease. This improvement reflects stricter risk selection and the absence of major loss events during the period. Consequently, the loss ratio improved, decreasing from 35% in 1H2025 to 33% in 1H2026.
Strong growth in investment income
Investment income in 1H2026 amounted to TND17m, representing an increase of 6.1% compared with the corresponding half of 2025.
