Global:Swiss Re appoints new Head of Transactions for L&H Re Business Unit

Swiss Re has appointed Mr Dean Galligan as Head of Transactions for the Life and Health Reinsurance (L&H Re) Business Unit, effective 1 August 2026.

This newly created role will bring together L&H Re’s global teams engaged in structuring complex capital and balance sheet solutions and longevity reinsurance.

Mr Galligan joins Swiss Re from Phoenix Group, where he served as Chief Capital Officer and member of the FTSE 100 Group Executive Committee. Prior to that, he was Global Head of Cross Asset Structuring and Solutions at Barclays Investment Bank. He also spent over 15 years at Goldman Sachs.

Mr Galligan will be based in London.
