Santam Syndicate 1918, part of Santam Group, Africa's largest non-life insurer, has appointed Ms Hina Shavdia as COO.

Ms Shavdia brings more than 20 years of global (re)insurance transformation experience to the role. She joins from Volante Global, where she served as Group COO. Prior to that, Ms Shavdia worked with AXIS Capital as Global Head of Business Change.

“Ms Shavdia’s reputation as an outstanding leader, a builder of high functioning teams and her extensive industry expertise in managing insurance and wider financial services operations make her an invaluable addition to our senior leadership team,” said Santam Syndicate 1918 CEO Sam Geddes.
