| 18 Aug 2026

Takaful Emarat has announced strong financial results for the first half of 2026, reflecting continued growth.

Profit before tax attributable to shareholders increased by 46% year-on-year to AED13.46m ($3.67m) in 1H2026, compared with AED9.25m in the first half of 2025.

The company’s core insurance operations also delivered strong momentum. Takaful service result increased by 31% to AED84.90m, compared with AED65.06m during the corresponding half last year, reflecting disciplined underwriting and enhanced operational performance.

Takaful revenue grew by 18% to AED335.20m, up from AED283.74m in 1H2025, demonstrating continued expansion across the company’s health and life portfolio and reinforcing its market position in the UAE.

Commenting on the results, Dr Noor Aldeen Atatreh, Takaful Emarat’s Chairman, said, "These strong financial results demonstrate the resilience of our business and the effectiveness of our long-term strategy. We remain focussed on sustainable growth, operational excellence, and delivering greater value to our customers, shareholders, and partners."

Accumulated losses

Takaful Emarat’s accumulated losses amounted to AED18.09m as of 30 June, 41% lower than AED30.66m as of 31 December 2025. Compared to the first quarter of 2026, the ratio of accumulated losses to paid-up capital decreased from 21% as at 31 March to 9% as of 30 June.

Takaful Emarat attributed the reduction primarily to “the normalisation of equity market valuation movements that had negatively impacted the company’s financial position during the first quarter of 2026”. From April to June 2026, the accumulated losses ratio improved significantly, supported by the profitability generated during the quarter and the normalisation of market-driven equity valuation movements. “The remaining accumulated losses are primarily related to investment fair value movements and do not reflect any deterioration in the company’s underlying core operations, which continue to remain stable,” said Takaful Emarat.
