Egypt:Insurance Federation points to 4 pillars to narrow protection gaps

| 23 Dec 2025

The Insurers Federation of Egypt (IFE) has identified four main pillars to bridge protection gaps and advance insurance inclusion in the market.

In its weekly bulletin released on 21 December 2025, the IFE said that the pillars are awareness, accessibility, affordability, and availability.

The Federation added that it has taken many steps over the years to raise insurance awareness among different segments of society. These efforts include an extensive two-year media campaign launched in September 2025 under the auspices of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) and in cooperation with the Policyholders Protection Fund.

As for accessibility, the Federation signed a cooperation protocol with Egyptian Post to diversify channels for distributing insurance products to small and micro enterprises, individuals and families.

Regarding insurance inclusion, the bulletin indicated that the Federation supported the efforts of the state and the FRA to expand access to insurance services to vulnerable groups, whether through raising awareness of micro-products or by encouraging companies to design insurance policies that meet the needs of society. These efforts have contributed to consolidating the concept of “Insurance for All” as a cornerstone of financial inclusion.

At the same time, the Federation has updated insurance policies and issued new forms of insurance coverage to meet the evolving needs of the market and support insurance inclusion efforts. It also participates actively in national initiatives launched by the state, most notably comprehensive health insurance initiatives, insurance for informal workers, and agricultural insurance.
