The Insurance Authority (IA) says that it and the country's insurance sector was unaffected by the 19 July massive global tech outage.
In a statement in Arabic, the IA confirmed “the integrity and safety of its systems and the systems of the Saudi insurance sector” and that it had “not been affected by the recent global technical outage”’ reported Gulf Business.
“The Insurance Authority emphasises that the Saudi insurance sector applies the highest technical and operational standards in accordance with the best global practices, ensuring the protection and safety of the Saudi insurance sector’s systems,” said the IA.
On 19 July, a software update for Windows by cyber security firm CrowdStrike caused a system crash and global IT outage, hitting such users as airports, hospitals, and banks. Both CrowdStrike and Microsoft subsequently said that a fix had been issued.
