Dubai: Mr Julien Audrerie is now the Head of Operations, Personal Lines, at AXA Gulf, while Mr Karl Gray has been assigned as Head of Operational Excellence. In his new role, Mr Audrerie will be in charge of expanding the personal lines department and maintaining its sustainable growth and profitability in the region. He also remains marketing manager for the Gulf region.
 
In his new capacity, Mr Gray will study and review the AXA group best practices applied in various platforms and propose and implement changes required in order to make AXA the preferred insurance company in the region.
 
 
Teheran: Dr Nourouz Kohzadi has replaced Dr Abdolnaser Hemmati as President of Bimeh Markazi Iran (Central Insurance of Iran).
The appointment was made by the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance.
 
Dr Kohzadi was born in Teheran in 1953 and holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the Commerce College of Teheran. He obtained his master’s degree in economics from London University in 1987 and his PhD in economics in Canada in 1993. He was Managing Director of the Export Development Bank of Iran for the previous 12 years, during which he was Head of the Export Guarantee Fund of Iran simultaneously for the most recent five years. He has also taught previously as a professor at Tarbiat Modares University of Iran.
 
Dr Hemmati was President of Bimeh Markazi Iran for12 years before stepping down.
 
 
Bahrain: The International Islamic Financial Market (IIFM), an international institution focused on the development of the global Islamic capital and financial markets, has appointed Dr Azmir Agel as the first head of capital market and support services based in Bahrain.
 
Dr Azmir, a Malaysian national, brings with him over 20 years of experience in financial services, private equity and corporate advisory services as well as the international oil and gas industry.
 
Prior to joining the IIFM, Dr Azmir was head of Islamic Capital Market and Offshore Market at Bursa Malaysia, the Kuala Lumpur bourse. He has also served as Director of strategic planning and research at the Labuan Offshore Financial Services Authority (LOFSA), the regulator and administrator of Malaysia’s Labuan International Offshore Financial Centre.
 
 
Dubai: Former British Ambassador to the UAE, Mr Anthony Harris is heading the representative office of the RFIB Group Limited (RFIB).
 
He has worked directly in various Middle East markets since the late 1990s and is a former director in the Middle East Corporate Finance Department of banking group, Robert Fleming.
 
Located at the DIFC, the international Lloyd’s insurance and reinsurance broker has been in the region for more than two decades.
 
 
Bahrain: Solidarity has Mr KC Viswaprasad as the Head of Underwriting for its General Takaful division.
 
Prior to joining Solidarity, Mr Viswaprasad worked as a Deputy General Manager for Crescent Global Insurance Services Company.
 
Prior to that, he held several positions with Royal and Sun Alliance Insurance in Saudi Arabia for eight years.
 
He holds a CPCU from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters, an Associate Diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute, London, Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India and a Post Graduate degree in Commerce from the University of Delhi in India.
