Egypt: Insurance federation and regulator studying sustainable insurance legislation

The Insurance Federation of Egypt (IFE) is working with the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) in studying legislation and decisions related to sustainable insurance in Egypt.

Both organisations are also studying the most important challenges that may be faced in the actual implementation of the planned regulatory framework and aim to overcome these challenges, reported Amwal Alghad.

The IFE, in its weekly bulletin issued on 9 December 2023, said that a number of tools and initiatives have been identified in the Federation’s strategy to achieve sustainable development, including cooperation with the FRA through the roadmap committee for sustainable insurance.

Among measures to be taken is community dialogue with insurance companies to raise the necessary awareness of the sustainability standards to be issued by the FRA.
