The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Ruckversicherung AG (Deutsche Ruck) has appointed Mr Achim Bosch (59) as the company's new CEO from 1 July 2025
Mr Bosch has been a member of Deutsche Rück’s Board of Executive Directors since the beginning of 2019. He will take over the role of CEO from Mr Frank Schaar (64), who has been at the helm of the reinsurer since February 2018 and will retire at the end of June 2025.
Prof Dr Frank Walthes, chairman of Deutsche Rück's Supervisory Board, said, "With Achim Bosch, Caren Buning and Michael Rohde, the Board of Executive Directors is well positioned to further strengthen Deutsche Rück’s central role in its domestic market and to continue the internationalisation strategy initiated by Frank Schaar in the long term.”
Mr Bosch joined Deutsche Rück on 1 January 2019 as chief underwriting officer and is currently responsible for the Non-Life International division in this role. He studied statistics at the University of Dortmund, began his career at Concordia in Hanover and continued it at General Reinsurance in Cologne, where he was appointed to the Board of Executive Directors in 2008.
