On 17 January, Paris-based reinsurer CCR Re officially announced a name change to Arundo Re.
"This name change marks a new chapter in our transformation, which began in 2016 and continued in 2023 with the arrival of two majority shareholders, SMABTP and MACSF," it said, in its official statement.
The reinsurer changed its name to Arundo Re - coming from the Latin word for 'reed'. The name is inspired by a well-known French fable, in which a reed represents a universal symbol of resilience and vitality.
"It underlines our determination not only to be a partner with a global vision and an understanding of our local environment, but also one with a tailored, human-centric approach that gives our clients the confidence they need to run their businesses," it said. "In our business, flexibility is key. It enables us to respond to changing circumstances while ensuring continuity. We live in an uncertain world full of challenges, but there is no such thing as inevitability. What truly matters is the ability to respond quickly and calmly."
The reinsurer added that the name change also represents its prioritisation of respect and attentiveness to its clients, regardless of the scale or complexity of the challenges they are dealing with.
