Insurance agents are asking themselves questions about the impact of adopting digital tools on the profession, according to National Union of Insurance Agents of Tunisia (Snagat) secretary-general Moncef Felli.
"We have the impression that everyone is talking about digital tools, artificial intelligence and offering digital insurance operations to the public. The few advances made in the Tunisian market have, unfortunately, been without consultation with agents," said Mr Felli, in a statement to La Presse.
Thus, Snagat highlights the need for consultation on digitisation. It also requests clarification for a better implementation of online sales and the role agents can play in a new digital environment. He said that some agencies have already started to experiment with digitisation.
The insurance agency sector comprises more than 1,250 SMEs employing a large number of people, Mr Felli said, adding, “In my opinion, nothing can be done and no new developments can be brought to the market without consultation with the profession."
