Tan Sri Azman Hashim,Group Chairman of AmBank Group

AmBank Group is open to expanding its AmGeneral Insurance business to include takaful, said Group Chairman Tan Sri Azman Hashim in a New Straits Times report.

The move would complement AmBank’s general insurance business by drawing in clients who prefer Shariah-compliant products.

“It is something in the future that is a possibility. We have an open mind about it,” said Tan Sri Azman. He was speaking to the media at the launch of AmGeneral’s new office in Kuala Lumpur when he was asked if the company was looking into obtaining a takaful licence.
