Even as MENA is being roiled by socio-political tensions exacerbated by the conflict in Gaza, the regional heads of the insurance sector got together in Muscat for the 34th General Arab Insurance Federation Conference to show a united face – strong in the face of an uncertain macroeconomic environment.
The meeting was graced with the presence of the secretary-general of the Council of Ministers His Highness Dr Sayyid Kamel bin Fahd bin Mahmoud A-Saeed, Capital Market Authority chairman Sultan Bin Salim Al Habsi and Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman Shaikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Rawwas.
In the opening speeches, delegates were also treated to deep insights from GAIF secretary general Chakib Abouzaid, Oman Insurance Association chairman Nassir Al Busaidi, Capital Market Authority executive president Ahmed Al Maamari, GAIF president Youcef Benmicia and OCCI chairman Faisal Al Rawas. M
