News Special - Finalists of 2nd Middle East Insurance Awards announced

The road is paved with stars and the 48 finalists for the 2nd Middle East Insurance Industry Awards (MIIA), held to recognise and salute excellence in the industry, have been announced.
The entries, both big and small, and from local and international players, showed that all over the MENA region, there were many companies doing things beyond the call of business and making concerted efforts to be a leader in the market. They want to make a difference to stand tall and make an impact.
As part of its extensive deliberations, the distinguished panel of judges drawn from industry leaders and regulators met in October for the final round of judging to select the winners of the Awards in each of the categories. The results, audited by independent auditor EY, will be kept secret until the Gala Awards Presentation held in conjunction with Dubai Rendezvous on 17 November at the Conrad Hotel in Dubai.
The Awards, held to boost professionalism and higher standards in the market through recognising excellence, was organised by Middle East Insurance Review (MEIR), co-branded with GAIF and the DIFC. Some 240 candidates took part in the Awards where Al Bayan was the Arabic Media Partner.
Mr Sivam Subramaniam, Editor-in Chief, MEIR, paid tribute to the diligence and dedication of the Judges whose collective wisdom lends weight to the Awards. He said: “I must salute the passion and commitment of the Judging Panel to the process despite the gruelling number of hours it took to read and rate the entries. They took the job seriously and were intent on choosing winners who made a difference, adding to the integrity of the Awards.”
